Weigh in on Slowing Boat Traffic

Investigators are still trying to piece together the cause of the July Fourth boat accident that killed three children in Oyster Bay, but ideas are already being floated on preventing future tragedies.

Several observers have speculated that a large wake, the wave caused my a moving boat, may have been the cause of the accident.

At a recent meeting of the Oyster Bay Town Board suggested creating a no wake zone in Oyster Bay harbor on July Fourth and other times when area waterways might be overcrowded.
