July, aside from intense heat, is mainly known for its festive and beautiful fireworks displays.
Massapequa Park holds an annual fireworks show in Mansfield Memorial Park that is always a sight to behold. This year's event, which was held on July 3 and drew a massive crowd, was especially noteworthy because the lack of snow this past winter provided a surplus of Village funds that helped make the show possible, whereas last year it was almost cancelled due to budget issues.
The Town of Oyster Bay also holds the very well-regarded Salute to America event every year in . This year's show features music by SixGun ("country music with a kick") and Fireworks by Grucci, and is sure to draw thousands of local residents. This year's Salute to America show is due to take place tomorrow evening at 7:30 p.m.
