AGES' 3rd Annual "Savvy Senior Day"

As nominations for Long Island’s Savvy Seniors remain underway until August 31st, Long Islanders are invited to take part in celebrating these remarkable individuals during the Third Annual “Savvy Senior Day” this Grandparents Day, Sunday, September 9, 2012. Presented by Long Island senior advocacy and resource group, the Association of Generational Experts for Seniors (AGES), this celebratory event is free attendance for all seniors nominated as well as their families and will feature a variety of food, entertainment and a chance at several raffle prizes, all of which have been donated by a number of local businesses and organizations including: Senior Helpers of Garden City, Ciao Baby of Massapequa, Big Daddy's Restaurant of Massapequa, Butera’s of Massapequa, Party-Rific of Seaford, We Care Physical Therapy, P.C. of Manorville and Nonna Bella Pizza Café of North Babylon. Sponsorships for products and services are still being accepted; anyone interested can contact 347-886-2574.

The event will recognize all senior nominees, who will receive certificates of appreciation, and will crown Long Island’s first-ever Savvy Senior King and Queen, who will be awarded commemorative plaques.

Savvy Senior nominations are underway until Friday, August 31st. In 200 typed words or less, individuals can submit their favorite senior, along with a photo or video, to: AGES Savvy Senior Award, P.O. Box 85, Lake Grove, NY 11755. Nominations are also accepted via email at savvy2012@agesresourcenetwork.com or directly through AGES’ Web site, www.agesresourcenetwork.com, which also provides further information about Savvy Senior Day.
