Third graders at the Eastplain Elementary School recently learned the value of re-using resources while showing off their creative side.
The students took part in a lesson on recycling that involved a story and an art project.
First, students in Ms. Jen Anders' listened to the environmentally-themed story, "A Mr. Rubbish Mood," by Megan McDonald.
Then the children were challenged to create an art project using items that otherwise would have been thrown out.
Among the things the students came up with were an angel made out of a nut container, a car created from a milk carton, a lantern that had been a plastic carton and a purse made from duct tape.
The students proudly displayed their projects in the picture above.
