Massapequa Park will help kick off the holidays this weekend with an annual fundraiser
The Massapequa Turkey Trot will take place Saturday morning at Brady Park in Massapequa Park. It will benefit YES Community Counseling Center.
"It is an annual event that helps us to celebrate the beginning of the Holiday season and provide an opportunity to have the community stay healthy and support YES at the same time," said YES Executive Director Jamie Bogenshutz.
It's expected that about 250 runners will participate and monies will go to expand YES services and help build new programs.
Registration runs from 6:45 a.m. to 8 a.m. There will be a youth fun run at 8:30 a.m. followed by a 5K run and walk at 9 a.m.
YES is also asking participants to bring non-perishible item to the race.
