Animal Adoptions and Great Ways to Help Animals in Need!

It's a very exciting week for animal adoptions and fundraising here on Long Island.  Please read about some great dogs and cats available for adoption as well as other ways to support our local shelters!

First up is this beautiful mother/daughter beagle mix duo named Jenna and Nikki.  Mommy Jenna is approximately 8 years old and daughter Nikki is about 5.  These two sweethearts came to the Town of Hempstead Animal Shelter together and have been inseparable ever since.  Jenna and Nikki are described as quite, sweet dogs who enjoy playing with other low-key dogs. Jenna and Nikki would be a great addition to any family, but it is requested that they stay together as a family.  For more information on Jenna and Nikki and the other great animals at the Town of Hempstead Animal Shelter, please visit their website at http://toh.li/animal-shelter

And right down the road at Last Hope Animal Rescue is Walker. This handsome guy was found as a stray in Kentucky.  Poor guy was very underweight and in desperate need of a rescue.  Despite his life of neglect, Walker loves people and other dogs too. He would make the best best friend you may ever meet, so why not head down to Wantagh this weekend to make his acquaintance.  For more information about Walker and the other great cats and dogs at Last Hope, check out their website at http://lasthopeanimalrescue.org/

Can't adopt but want to help animals in need?  Here are two great ways to do so:

Come to a Car Wash to benefit Last Hope....Your vehicle will be thankful, and so will Last Hope's dogs and cats.  A group of compassionate fifth grade students from the youth venture group-"Lift Up Long Island"- will be holding a car wash with all proceeds going to Last Hope Animal Rescue. They are the youngest members of this all Long Island community service organization.
