Area Thanksgiving Meals For Those in Need

Organizations and locations serving free dinners.

For most of us Thanksgiving is a time to be with family and  other loved ones. But there are those in the area who don't have anywhere to go  or don't have the means to have a holiday dinner.

There are some locations nearby  that will be serving dinners to those in need on Thursday, according to Long Island Cares.

  • The Mary Brennan INN, which stands for Interfaith Nutrition Network, will serve a meal from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at 100 Madison Avenue in Hempstead. For information call 516-486-6243.
  • The Salvation Army Faith Mission Soup Kitchen will serve meals from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.  For info, call 516-902-7904.
  • The Oceanside Interfaith Council will host a Thanksgiving Day Serving for those who need it at 11:30 a.m. at Oceanside high School, 3160 Skillman Avenue. For information call 516-678-6152. 
  • Harvest for the World Soup Kitchen will serve food from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 90 Pleasant Avenue in ROosevelt. for information call 516-623-4498.
