Ethel DeMayo, Elections Board Worker, Dies at 89

Massapequa Park resident Ethel DeMayo, who spent 53 years working for the Nassau County Board of Elections, died Friday. She was 89.

DeMayo was a precinct chairwoman who helped set up polls and tabulate results on Election Day, the family told Newsday.

Beloved wife of late Anthony DeMayo. Devoted mother of Ethel (Norm) Schmitz, Marie (Dwight ) Winters, Ann DeMayo, Anthony (Jackie) and Frank( Kathy). Also survived by 12 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren.
