Bomb Scare Evacuates Sunrise Mall

Suspicious suitcase closes mall for a couple of hours.

The Westfield Sunrise Mall was closed for several hours Monday night after a couple of suitcases were left in front of a store, police said.

The suspicous suitcases were spotted in front of a jewelry store at about 5:45 p.m.

The mall was immediately evacuated and the bomb squad was called in. Authorities determined that there was no bomb and the suitcases were filled with personal belongings.

The mall was re-opened at about 8 p.m. police said.
