Cops: 2 Teens Struck by Hit-and-Run Driver

Victims sustained non-life threatening injuries in Wantagh State Parkway accident.

Two teens were struck in a hit-and-run on the Wantagh State Parkway early Tuesday, according to New York State Police.

Troopers said they received a call at about 3 a.m for a hit-and-run in the southbound lanes of the Wantagh State Parkway south of Merrick Road. The victims, an 18-year-old man from Wantagh and a 15-year-old girl from Levittown, had just exited their car when they were struck by an oncoming vehicle, cops said.

The victims were treated for non-life threatening injuries at Nassau University Medical Center, cops said.

State Police are asking anyone with information about the hit-and-run to call Troop L Headquarters at 631-756-3300. All callers will remain anonymous.
