Cops: Commuter Injured in Southern State Accident

Driver taken to NUMC after three-car rear ending.

One person was injured in a three-car rear ending Wednesday morning on the Southern State near Bethpage Parkway, said .

The cars were traveling west in the left lane on the Southern State Parkway at about 9:30 a.m. Wednesday when one vehicle was rear ended by the car behind it, reported police. The force of that collision then pushed the two vehicles into the car in front of them, police said.

Farmingdale State Troopers reported to the scene near Bethpage State Parkway and found the male driver in the center car complaining of neck pain. The driver was transported by Nassau County EMS crews to Nassau University Medical Center for further treatment, while the other drivers were unharmed in the accident, according to police.
