Cops: Man Slams into Pole After 100 MPH Chase on Southern State

Bronx man charged after high speed chase this weekend.

A Bronx man faces charges for leading a high speed chase on the Southern State Parkway this weekend, reported New York State Police.

Just after 2 a.m. Saturday, State Troopers tried to stop a Honda Civic near Exit 30 on the Southern State Parkway near Farmingdale and Massapequa, officers said. The car had been clocked at 100 miles per hour in a 55 MPH zone, police said.

Instead of pulling over, the Honda turned its headlights off and made several unsafe lane changes to evade police while speeding up, cops said.
