Long Beach
Marlene Maggiore, a 46-year-old Long Beach resident, was arrested and charged with attempted murder after police said she pushed her 78-year-old mother down a flight of stairs in their East End home last week. According to the Long Beach Police Department, police answered a call about a domestic dispute at a home on Neptune Boulevard, where Leonard Maggiore told officers at the scene that his daughter pushed his wife, Josephine, down a flight of stairs. Josephine sustained three broken ribs, lacerations and swelling to the back of her head and pain in her left shoulder, and the Long Beach Fire Department transported her to Long Beach Medical Center, according to police.
Bellmore
Nassau County Seventh Squad detectives are investigating an assault at a saloon located along the Bellmore-Wantagh border Sunday night that left three men with head injuries, including one in critical condition. According to detectives, police discovered three male victims, ages 47, 42 and 38 who had sustained head injuries at Bullitt's Saloon. The victims were all transported to an area hospital where the 47 year old and 38 year old were treated and released. The 42 year old victim was admitted with a fractured skull, broken jaw and broken ribs. He is listed in critical condition.
Riverhead
Brandishing handguns and wearing masks, two men held up a Riverhead Halloween store Saturday, police said. The manager of the Spirit Halloween told police that the robbers took hundreds of dollars from the registers. The masks, police say, were not Halloween masks.
Huntington
Suffolk County Police are investigating a home invasion last week in Huntington. Police received a call Wednesday about two masked men entering a home on Stuyvesant Street. One of the masked men hit a 30-year-old male in the head with a gun, police said. He was taken to Huntington Hospital with cuts on his head.Another male victim was inside the home at the time but not injured. No arrests have been made and the investigation is continuing.
Farmingville
The TD Bank in Farmingville was robbed Friday morning, police said. Police said a man entered the bank at 11:20 a.m. and handed a note to a teller demanding cash. The teller complied and the man fled on foot and headed west through the bank's parking lot, police said. The suspect is described as a white male, 25 to 35 years old, unshaven, approximately 6-foot to 6-foot-2, with a medium build. He was wearing a black baseball cap, dark sunglasses and a navy blue New York Yankees jacket.
Garden City
A Garden City police officer arrested a female 26-year-old from Hempstead for the larceny of several items totaling $986 in value from Lord & Taylor. She was also charged with possession of burglary tools for using a pair of scissors to remove sensor tags from the merchandise on Oct. 15.

Police conducted a commercial vehicle inspection checkpoint on New Hyde Park Road, inspecting 12 vehicles, placing eight out of service, citing one for being overweight, citing two for brake violations, citing one for an unsecure load, citing one for a hazardous material violation (fuel container uncovered), citing one driver for having a suspended license and another cited for speeding.
North Merrick
The Valero gas station in North Merrick was robbed at gunpoint for the second time in less than a year late Friday night, according to Nassau County Police. According to police, a 54-year-old male employee finished work for the night around 11 p.m. at the Jerusalem Avenue gas station and was walking in the parking lot towards his car when he was confronted by a gunman. The man forced the victim back inside the the gas station, took about $550 and fled on foot.
