A Lindenhurst man took a woman out for dinner and gave her a box of chocolates during a date Monday night. What he got in return, though, from the woman wasn't nearly as sweet.
Police say Virginia Miller, 26, of Amityville, helped set up the robbery of the Lindenhurst man, whom police did not identify, in the driveway of a North Amityville home. Miller and three men are now under arrest.
The night began when Miller made arrangements to go on a date with the Lindenhurst man to celebrate her birthday. After the man treated Miller to dinner at a local fast food restaurant and gave her the chocolates, they returned to a residence in North Amityville, police said. As they sat in the driveway, police say Miller sent a text message to her friends, signaling them to come out of the house to rob her date. Full Story

Atlantic Beach Woman Accused Of Stealing $250K From Employer
An Atlantic Beach woman was arrested Thursday and charged with allegedly stealing more than $250,000 from the architect she worked for, Nassau County District Attorney Kathleen Rice announced. Doreen Goucher, 62, is charged with one count of grand larceny in the second degree and face up to 15 years in prison if convicted. She is scheduled to be arraigned later today in First District Court in Hempstead. Between June 2006 and December 2011, Goucher used her position as bookkeeper for a local architect — where she had worked for 14 years until she was fired in December 2011 — to allegedly withdraw $258,731 from company accounts without permission or authority from her employer, Rice said.
Cops: Woman Uses Forged Prescriptions at West Nempstead CVS
An Oceanside woman was arrested Thursday for using forged prescriptions to obtain Vicodin pills from the CVS Pharmacy in West Hempstead. According to detectives, Kathleen Trumpatori, 53, presented a forged prescription in the name of a 49-year-old female victim to CVS Pharmacy five separate times between February 2012 and Septemeber 2012. During each visit on Feb. 16, March 7, May 29, July 11 and Sept. 13, Trumpatori was able to obtain 30 pills of Vicodin, police say. After an investigation. Trumpatori is charged with five counts of second-degree possession of a forged instrument and five counts of second-degree identity theft.
Police Seeking Suspected Medford Bank Robber
Suffolk County Police are investigating Thursday morning's robbery of the TD Bank location in Medford. Police said that a man entered the bank at approximately 11:10 a.m., approached a teller and demanded cash. The teller complied and the suspect fled. The suspect is described as a white male with a stocky build, 5-foot-8-inches in height, wearing a dark knit cap, a black jacket and light-colored pants.
NYC Man Arrested for 1994 W. Babylon Homicide
A New York City man is under arrested after Suffolk County Police Department Homicide Squad detectives connected him with a 1994 homicide in West Babylon. The homicide occurred on March 22, 1994, when two men entered the Diamond Trucking Company, then located at 174 Cabot St., West Babylon, and shot two employees while attempting to rob the business. One of the employees, Mario Andujar, 30, died at the scene. Detectives arrested Troy Arrighi, 37, of 400 East 30th St., New York City at his home on Feb. 14. Arrighi was 18 at the time of the crime. Arrighi was charged with murder in the second degree.
DA: Great Neck Man Steals $135K in Tax Revenue From Employees
A grand jury has charged a Great Neck man with grand larceny and tax fraud after he stole more than $135,000 in tax revenue that had been withheld from the employees of his Uniondale consulting firm, Nassau District Attorney Kathleen Rice announced Thursday. Rice said between January 2005 and December 2011, William McCoy, 50, the owner of Uniondale-based McCoy Consultants LTD stole the money owed to the New York State Department of Taxation and Finance that had been withheld from as many as 24 employees depending on the tax year. McCoy is charged with second degree grand larceny and criminal tax fraud in the third and fourth degrees.
