Crime Nearby: Valley Stream Man in Child Porn Arrest

Valley Stream

A 59-year-old Valley Stream man has been arrested on charges that he arranged to meet a 6-year-old child in order to take pornographic photos of her, according to the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office. 

Bergen County Prosecutor John Molinelli announced the arrest Monday following an investigation in which Allan Davis, of Valley Stream, used the internet to make arrangements with a person he believed to be the mother of a 6-year-old female to take nude photographs of the child.

Davis, who was arrested without incident on March 23, was charged with attempt to endanger the welfare of a child and attempt to manufacture child pornography.

East Meadow

An East Meadow man, who was arrested for a domestic incident on March 9, was subsequently found to be in possession of an arsenal of weapons.

New York State Police said they found 14 guns, two grenade launchers and large amounts of ammunition in the home of Michael Anderson.

Port Washington

A Port Washington man was placed under arrest after being involved in a domestic incident on March 18 at 10:50 p.m.

After being involved in a domestic incident, a Port Washington woman was placed under arrest on Marino Avenue on March 13 at 11:23 a.m.

Farmingdale

A Farmingdale man was arrested early Sunday morning by Suffolk Police and charged with driving while intoxicated after he drove the wrong way on Route 109 in North Lindenhurst.

According to police, Jason Tyree, 27, was driving his 2001 Volvo westbound in the eastbound lane of Route 109, just west of Wellwood Avenue in North Lindenhurst at approximately 2:50 a.m.

The SCPD said drivers of eastbound vehicles had to swerve out of the way of the wrong-way vehicle to avoid a collision.

Tyree’s vehicle struck a 2012 Nissan head-on near 1144 Route 109, police said, causing minor injuries to himself and to the other driver.

Lloyd Harbor

Four arrests have been made in connection with a string of recent crimes, according to village police.

At a village board meeting last week, Lloyd Harbor Police Chief Charles Flynn confirmed three residential burglaries and one attempted break-in occurred since February in the village. Two handguns, a shotgun and approximately $100,000 worth of jewelry was stolen from homes. Police say nearly 80 percent of the jewelry was been recovered — some found in village sewer drains by Lloyd Harbor Highway Department personnel, who discovered several firearms with defaced serial numbers.
St. James

A St. James man was arrested after disposing a woman's body in the woods at Manorville Hills County Park in February, according to police. Police said Matthew Krauss, 34, of St. James, dumped the body of Pura Simancas, 45, of Central Islip, between Feb. 27 and Feb. 28 in the woods at Manorville Hills County Park after they had used heroin and taken Xanax. Krauss was charged under the New York State Public Health Law for dumping the body of Simancas, a misdemeanor crime.
