DA: East Meadow Man Charged for Child Porn Possession

Daniel Sherlock, 25, faces felony charges after he was found with videos of young girls performing sexual acts, said the DA.

An East Meadow man has been charged with felony possession of child pornography involving underage girls, according to the Nassau County District Attorney's office.

Daniel Sherlock, 25, was charged with three counts of promoting a sexual performance by a child and three counts of possessing a sexual performance by a child.

Federal and state investigators discovered that Sherlock had at least three videos of young girls performing sexual acts alone or with an adult man, the DA's office said. The girls in the videos were between 10 and 14 years old, according to the filenames on Sherlock's computer.

Sherlock was arraigned Thursday and released on a conditional discharge. He is due back in court July 8.

If convicted, Sherlock faces a minimum of seven years in prison and being placed on the New York State Sex Offender Registry.

"Child pornography is among the most harmful kinds of exploitation a child can face and we will do everything we can to hold those involved with this despicable material accountable," said NCDA Kathleen Rice in a statement. "I thank our federal and state partners in this case and urge anyone aware of child pornography being traded or produced to contact authorities immediately."
