East Massapequa Man Tied up and Robbed in his Home

Three men arrested in early Monday incident

Robbers tied up and beat a man inside his East Massapequa home early Monday, before they were arrested, police said.

The incident happened at 12:17 a.m. as Louis Hines, 24, and Dashawn Combs, 25, of Copiague and Herman Monroe of Amityville allegedly entered the Francine Avenue home through an unlocked rear door.

The 22-year-old victim was home alone and the three men tied him up and struck him in the head and face, cops said.

The robbers took two flat screen TVs, jewelry, two iPhones, car keys and an unknown amount of cash, before fleeing the scene in the victim's 2010 Nissan.

Suffolk County Police spotted the suspects on Miller Avenue in Amityville a short time later and found the car nearby, police said.

The other proceeds from the robbery weren't found, police said.

The three men were charged with robbery, burglary, and unlawful imprisonment, police said.

It's east massapequa, needs to stop selling homes to people who arent decent. What kind of person ties someone up and then beats them..... A coward. Some piece of garbage who has no morals, and. Wasn't raised well. Most likely from crappy areas in one of the five Boros where they let their kids do what they want and treat people with disrespect. Brooklyn and queens use to be nice, now the crap is moving into our area. This county is going to hell because no one what's to say how it is. People need to be responsible for raising the kids they have, anyone on well fair, who can work should be drug tested. Everyone crys, where is our money going? It's going to people who aren't responsible and don't want to work and have as many kids that they can't take care of. We need to stop this nonsense.

The fighting 7th precinct......lol. Needs to put more cops , or the cops that are assigned to cover the east massapequa area patrolling the areas side/ back streets. I don't want to hear they don't have enough cars. Unlike the city, Nassau has a officer for every sector that they cover every shift. The same cars go out ever day and night 24 hours a day.even if a cop is sick or on vacation, some other officer is assigned his shift and covers his car for that tour. So, I font want to hear this bull crap about Nassau not having enough cars to cover patrol. The city does it, and they don't replace cars and do ten times the work load.Less crying and more patrol and police work in the bad areas of East Massapequa will prove results. No more hiding at TOB blogs or fire houses. They took an oath, now serve the community.

The city doesn't answer their calls....can't compare to Nassau. Nassau much more efficient.

Three idiots. Now their lives are over. Just add them to the trash heap of morons that think crime pays and its the easy way out. I hope it was worth it,geniuses.

Stop calling it East Massapequa, how about West Amityville. It is Amityville School dIstrict.
Massa September 7, 2012 at 06:00 pm
I wish it was west Amityville. It is in Massapequa and has been in Amityville school district for years. Ed, Nassau cops arent effective at all, most of them are lazy and over paid for what they do. The robbery that occurred, Nassau didn't catch the perp, Suffolk did...... Nassau cops were most likely hanging out at the firehouses or around the block at the TOB truck shop on Carmen's road. City cops are real cops, and Massapequa has the highest number of city cops on long island who live here. Guys from the city don't and shouldn't have to come home from work and deal with this nonsense that Nassau cops can't handle. City cops do the job in crappy areas for less pay and handle their jobs, Nassau is bothered when they get a job. Big difference, they are just lazy and over paid and by far not even on the same page as city cops.

when you say elite do you mean the hard working people who have money? it's a matter of labels. youRead More call them elite..they call themselves hard workers. yes, some inherit money. but most of us work for it.
Michael Taustine June 16, 2013 at 09:01 pm
No, it has nothing to do with how hard you work. It's just that the elite one percenters are treatedRead More differently when they run afoul of the laws in this country. No one has been jailed for the corporate malfeasance that resulted in the financial crash of '08, in spite of the rules that were ignored or broken. Too big to fail is the order of the day. Meanwhile, petty frauds committed by poor and middle class are prosecuted to the full extent of the law. Two Americas. The rule of law, unevenly applied, whether by race, or class, or economic station will result in the unraveling of society. We may well be seeing the beginnings of that now, as we've entered a new gilded age, where new robber barons are allowed to run roughshod over the lower classes. The very ideals of America are at stake, and we are letting them slide away.

Will the new Massapequa station platform be covered end-to-end as it is now? If it will only beRead More partially covered, like Seaford station, there are going to be a lot of cold, wet, unhappy commuters.
Patrick O'Hara June 12, 2013 at 04:14 pm
Mr. Coyote, The design plans only call for a canopy over certain parts of the station platform, likeRead More almost all of the other stations along the branch. The canopies will be primarily over the staircases, elevator, waiting room, and one other small section on the middle section of the platform between the elevator and east escalator.
