As the officers approached the stopped car, they saw the driver, Bryan Grossman, 20, switching seats with his passenger, Jonathan Mills, 26.

The shell casings were found on the ground of the driver's side of the vehicle. Grossman had fired the gun on Central Avenue during a fight with a group of people and tossed the weapon out of the car, cops said.

Officers found the gun on the lawn of a nearby residence.

Grossman, who lives in Farmingdale, was charged with weapons possession, reckless endangerment and DWI, as well as several traffic violations.

Mills, of Farmingdale, was charged with operating a vehicle without a license, DWI and traffic violations.

Both men were charged with DWI because police saw them both behind the wheel during the investigation, cops said.
