Home Health Aide Arrested for Stealing from Massapequa Park Couple

Central Islip man charged with Larceny.

A home health care aide hired to take care of an elderly Massapequa Park couple, stole from them instead, Nassau County police said.

Joseph Ortiz. 20 of Central Islip started working for the victims in Augustt. But the couple discovered that $1,200 was missing from a bedroom dresser drawer on Sept. 13.
Later a wallet containing $1,400 went missing on Oct. 29.

After an investigation, Ortiz was arrested Friday night. He was charges with grand larceny.
