Man Arrested for Speeding and DWI on Southern State

State Police say Lindenhurst man was driving 107 mph

A driver speeding down the Southern State Parkway at 107 mph was arrested for drunk driving over the weekend, state police said.

Kenneth Podolsky 19, of Lindenhurst, was traveling east on the parkway at 1:10 a.m. Saturday when his blue Nissan was stopped near Route 135 and the Seaford-Massapequa border.

A trooper smelled alcohol in Podolsky's car  and administered a sobriety test, which he failed, police said.

A breath test showed his blood alcohol content to be .18 percent, more than twice the legal limit of .08 percent, police said.

Podolsky was charged with DWI and traffic violations.
