Man Robs Bank on Sunrise Highway

Robber flees Capital One branch in Massapequa Park with stolen funds.

A man robbed a Capital One Bank on Sunrise Highway in Massapequa Park Thursday afternoon, Nassau County police said.

The robbery occurred about 1:27 p.m. at 5100 Sunrise Highway.

Police said the man approached the teller and handed her a note demanding money. He also claimed to have a gun. The teller complied and the man fled with an unknown amount of money. Seven employees and four customers were in the bank but no injuries were reported.

The man is described as Hispanic, in his 30’s, 5’0”- 5’2” tall, stocky athletic build, clean shaven, medium olive complexion, wearing a NY Yankee baseball cap backwards, large reflective sunglasses, a dark long=sleeved crew neck knit shirt and pants.

Detectives ask that anyone with contact Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS.  All callers will remain anonymous.
