Massapequa Crime Report: Bike Thefts

Oct. 23 to Oct. 30

The following information was supplied by the Nassau County Police Department. A criminal charge is only an accusation, and does not indicate convictions.

Bike Thefts

On Oct. 27, someone took to bicycles from a yard on Clock's Boulevard, police said. The suspect also damaged a hood ornament and stole clothing from a trunk. Police said the crime took place between midnight and 5:30 a.m.

On Oct. 24, a bicycle was reported stolen from a shed on Jones Court,police said. The theft occurred between 6 p.m. and 8:23 p.m.

Grand Larceny

On Oct. 28, a thief broke into a locker at XSport Fitness and property was removed from a wallet, police said. The incident occurred at about 9:20 p.m.

Larceny From Auto

On Oct. 22,  two GPS systems were stolen from a vehicle on Boston Avenue, police said. The incident occurred between 12:30 a.m. to 7:55 a.m.

On Oct. 23, a pocketbook was stolen from a vehicle parked outside of Macy's at the Sunrise Mall at 9:30 p.m., police said.

On Oct. 28,  cash was taken from a landscape vehicle parked at the intersection of Broadway and New Hampshire Avenue in Massapequa, police said.

DWAI

On Oct. 23., A Massapequa Park man was arrested at the intersection of Merrick Road and Whitewood Drive, and charged with Driving While Ability Impaired, police said.
