Massapequa Crime Report: Fist Fight at Hess

Oct. 22 to Nov. 12

The following information was supplied by the Nassau County Police Department. A criminal charge is only an accusation, and does not indicate convictions.

Burglary

On Oct. 22, police arrested Keith Barkan, 18, of Massapequa, and charged him with burglary in the second degree and criminal possession of stolen property in the fifth degree.

On Oct. 29, a home was burglarized on Whitewood Drive in Massapequa Park, police said. The thief entered through the garage and took electronics and jewelry.

Between Oct. 31 and Nov. 1, a home was burglarized on Highwater Drive in Massapequa, police said. Jewelry was reported stolen.

Between Nov. 2 and 3, a home on Ford Drive South in Massapequa was burglarized, police said. The thief entered through a basement window and took jewelry.

On Nov. 6, a home on East Shore Drive in Massapequa was burglarized, police said. Someone reportedly entered through the rear door, but took nothing.

Assault

On Nov. 1, a fight broke out between two people at the Hess Station. Police said Anthony Iuzzolino, 42, of Merrick, punched a man in the face, knocking him down. James Knaust, 45, of Merrick, came over and began striking him in the face, cops said. Both were arrested and charged with second degree assault.

On Nov. 3, police reported charging Gregory Heeber, 29, of Massapequa, with assault after he struggled with officers when he was escorted out of a bar.

Larceny

On Nov. 12, nine people went to TGI Fridays in Massapequa and failed to pay their $245 bill, police said.
