Massapequa Crime Report: Vehicle Related Thefts

Jan 17- Jan. 22

The following information was supplied by the Nassau County Police Department. A criminal charge is only an accusation, and does not indicate convictions.

Larcenies from Vehicles

On Jan. 18, electronics were stolen from a vehicle parked on Division avenue in Massapequa, police said. The thefts occurred at around 3 a.m.

On Jan. 18 a GPS was reported stolen from a car parked on St. Marks Place in Massapequa, cops said. The GPS and other items were taken between 7 p.m. the night before and 8 a.m.

On Jan. 18, electronics were stolen from a car parked on St. Marks Place between midnight and 5:45 a.m., police said.

On Jan. 20,  a car parked outside the Xtreme Gym on Carmans Road  was broken into, police said. The thief took a pocketbook, cash, credit cards, an iPod and sunglasses, police said. The theft took place between 6:10 a.m. and 6:40 a.m.

On Jan. 20, a window was smashed on a vehicle parked outside the Parkview Nursing Home and a thief stole a pocketbook, police said.

DWI

On Jan. 19, Toni Amendola, 29, of Lindenhurst, was arrested on North Broadway near the Southern State Parkway and was charged with DWI.

Petty Larceny

On Jan. 15, a Farmingdale woman was arrested at JC Penney at the Sunrise Mall and charged with petty Larceny, police said.

On Jan. 16, a Brooklyn man was arrested at Macy's at the Sunrise Mall and Charged with Petty Larceny.

On Jan. 16, a North Bellmore man was arrested at  Macy's at the Sunrise Mall and was charged with petty larceny.

On Jan. 16 a Brentwood woman was arrested at Kohl's, 5300 Sunrise Highway and charged with petty larceny.

On Jan. 21, a bicycle that was locked outside of Mary's Pizza at 1030 Park Boulevard was stolen at 3:15 p.m., police said.
