Massapequa Park Man Arrested in Plainview Burglary

Police: Suspect arrested after tripping alarm.

A Massapequa Park man was broke into a vacant building in Plainview and was arrested after tripping an alarm, police said.

James A. Vitale, 48, allegedly entered the building at 1425 Old Country Road and tried to remove copper wiring at about 2:50 p.m. on Tuesday.

The burglar thought the electricty had been turned off,  but the alarm went off and cops said they caught him red-handed in the basement.

Vitale was charged with burglary and possesion of burglary tools.
