18 is adult.
Massa November 15, 2012 at 03:58 pm
At 17 years old you are considered and adult and charged as an adult. Piece if garbage.
Massa November 15, 2012 at 04:15 pm
This girl lives on Grand st in East Massapequa near Clocks blvd and Oakley ave which is where a male was shot a few weeks back. I would bet this loser hangs out with the two thugs that robbed and shot another male At that location. It pisses me off because this area is getting worse and NOTHING is being done about it.What pisses me off even more is that children have games and practices for sports at field if dreams which is just yards away from this area. That area needs to be swept clean of the crap that has moved in that area. Look at where this girl was arrested, Baldwin, another town that went down hill because of TRASH like this girl. We need a police Department and a community that cares.

What's happened to Massapequa ? When I grew up there in the 70's we didn't have people named "Latisha" living in Massapequa. They lived in Amityville. See what happens when you diversify a nice town ? Trash from the ghetto moves in and ruins the neighborhood.
pequan1 November 15, 2012 at 11:42 pm
@catman...well what is now called east massapequa used to be called west amityville...however what people in massapequa refer to as east massapequa isn't the same as what they show on maps online that include nassau shores and such. East Massapequa, which is east of carmens north of sunrise and east of carmin mill south of sunrise is in amityville school district not massapequa. Massapequa school district, at least when I graduated in '05 was still 98% white (not saying this is a good thing, just a stat)...It's not just east massapequa thats the problem, it's white kids living within Massapequa school district that are selling heroin everywhere and robbing their own neighborhood.
paying tons of taxes, savages ruining the island November 16, 2012 at 04:10 am
I am so sick of paying taxes to support these uncivilized people who just continue to perpetuate crime. when is the government going to do something about this?! it is getting worse. kudos catman! u r right on target. I pay a lot of money to live in Nassau Shores. I have had to worry about looting 2 x in the past two years with Irene and Sandy. as soon as evacuations are called for, savages from "east massapequa" are in my neighborhood trying to rob the houses.
Massa November 16, 2012 at 05:49 pm
That girl graduated from Malverne High school, makes sense, because the garbage that she was caught with is from Baldwin area. Remember a few weeks ago shots fired at a ZbsldwinGS football game and a person stabbed there. What is wrong with these people? East Massapequa is a crsp area and needs to be cleaned up.... Those homes were nice and these people ruined a nice area because they can't act normal and follow rules like everyone else. As for the youth if Massapequa, they try and act like these people by dressing like a gangster and trying to act tough..... Your bit tough if you need to have a gun or a knife, you are a loser and no one will ever respect you.Dont be a follower, be your own person.... If not you are nothing but a punk.Parents and the pice need to step it up and take charge. Your kid should follow your rules, if NOT, you are a crappy parent.
Massa November 16, 2012 at 05:55 pm
A parent should guide their kids and be a role model to them, not let your kid control your life. My kids aren't leaving the house with their pants hanging off their asses and their hats looking tilted and stupid on their heads.they aren't talking gangster and listening to gangster rap and having Heros who are crappy role models like some if these pro sports players or uneducated rappers who disrespect each other and everyone else.People need to wise up and take control.

Oh please. All these people from Massapequa acting like their town is so pristine when the heroin and crime is running rampant in the Massapequa school district. Of course when those stories come up, the perps are "misunderstood" and need "guidance". But if something happens in East Massapequa the obvious overtones come out. Stop hiding behind your keyboards, start looking in the mirror, and get a grip on reality.

when you say elite do you mean the hard working people who have money? it's a matter of labels. youRead More call them elite..they call themselves hard workers. yes, some inherit money. but most of us work for it.
Michael Taustine June 16, 2013 at 09:01 pm
No, it has nothing to do with how hard you work. It's just that the elite one percenters are treatedRead More differently when they run afoul of the laws in this country. No one has been jailed for the corporate malfeasance that resulted in the financial crash of '08, in spite of the rules that were ignored or broken. Too big to fail is the order of the day. Meanwhile, petty frauds committed by poor and middle class are prosecuted to the full extent of the law. Two Americas. The rule of law, unevenly applied, whether by race, or class, or economic station will result in the unraveling of society. We may well be seeing the beginnings of that now, as we've entered a new gilded age, where new robber barons are allowed to run roughshod over the lower classes. The very ideals of America are at stake, and we are letting them slide away.

Will the new Massapequa station platform be covered end-to-end as it is now? If it will only beRead More partially covered, like Seaford station, there are going to be a lot of cold, wet, unhappy commuters.
Patrick O'Hara June 12, 2013 at 04:14 pm
Mr. Coyote, The design plans only call for a canopy over certain parts of the station platform, likeRead More almost all of the other stations along the branch. The canopies will be primarily over the staircases, elevator, waiting room, and one other small section on the middle section of the platform between the elevator and east escalator.
