Msapequa Crime Report: Burglary and Jeep Theft

June 20 to June 25.

The following information was supplied by the Nassau County Police Department. A criminal charge is only an accusation, and does not indicate convictions.

Burglary

On June 24 a home was reported burglarized on Polo Road, police said. The theif broke in on the side door, and stole electronics and jewelry.

Auto Theft

On June 18 a 1997 Gold Jeep Cherokee was stolen from Monroe Street in Massapequa Park, police said. The theft occurred at 11:30 a.m.

DWI

On June 25, Frederick Scheferston,  59 of  Massapequa Park was arrested on Grand Boulevard near Cypress Street, Massapequa Park and charged with driving while intoxicated.

Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of  a Motor Vehicle

On June 20, Richard James, age 33 of the Bronx was arrested on Sunrise Highway near Hicksville Road, Massapequa and charged with aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle 3rd, aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle 2nd and three violations of the Vehicle and Traffic Law.

On June 21, Jonathon Shaffer, 27, of Central Islip was arrested on Broadway near Pennsylvania Avenue, Massapequa and charged with two counts of aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle 3rd, aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle 2nd, and three violations of the Vehicle and Traffic Law.

Petty Larceny

On June 20, a Massapequa man was arrested at Pathmark, 941 Carmans Road, Massapequa and charged with petty larceny.

On June 21, a Hempstead man was arrested at Pathmark, 941 Carmans Road, Massapequa and charged with petty larceny.

On June 22, an Amityville man was arrested at JC Penny, at the Sunrise Mall, Massapequa and charged with petty larceny.

On June 25, a  Farmingdale man was arrested at Wal-Mart, at the Sunrise Mall, Massapequa and charged with petty larceny.
