Police Blotter: iPhone Thefts at Verizon Store

March 8 to 15.

On March 4, Verizon reported to police that several iphones had been stolen from the Verizon store at 5070 Sunrise Highway. The store conducted an internal investigation and discovered four employees were responsible, police said. The employees said they were hired by a third party. A total of73 phones were taken worth a total of more than $47,000.

On March 9, a man was assaulted at a  traffic stop on Connecticut Avenue, police said. A vehicle containing three men pulled up next to the victim shortly after 10:30 p.m.  The driver of the vehicle got out to go to the bathroom and the victim began talking to the female passenger in the other car.  When the woman screamed "Baby, he's trying to flirt with me, the driver returned and allegedly struck the victim in the chest. He then jumped in the car and fled south on Seaford Avenue, police said.

On  March 8, Elmer A Reyes, 29, of Bethpage was arrested on North Broadway and North Oak Street, North Massapequa and charged with Aggravated Unlicensed 2nd and three violations of the Vehicle and Traffic Law.

On March 9, an  Amityville woman was arrested at Pathmark, 941 Carmans Road, Massapequa and charged with Petit Larceny.

On March 9, a Georgette Parker, 49, of Hempstead, was arrested at JC Penny at the Sunrise Mall and charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3rd, and Petit Larceny after police said she was carrying a leather slap jack in her pocketbook.

On March 10, Benny Recca, 48, of Massapequa was arrested on Division Avenue and Merrick Road, Massapequa and charged with Driving While Intoxicated and two violations of the Vehicle and Traffic Law.

On March 10, Lynn Annunziato, 62, of Massapequa was arrested on Ocean Avenue and New York Avenue, Massapequa and charged with Driving While Intoxicated and Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated.

On March 10, an  Amityville woman  was arrested at Wal-Mart at the  Sunrise Mall  and charged with Petit Larceny.

On  March 11, an  Amityville woman was arrested at Wal-Mart at the Sunrise Mall  and charged with Petit Larceny.

On March 11, a  Springfield Gardenns woman was arrested at Hollister at the Sunrise Mall  and charged with Petit Larceny.

 On March 11 a  Massapequa woman was arrested at Macy’s at the Sunrise Mall and charged with Petit Larceny.

On March 12, a Seaford  woman was arrested at Macy’s, at the  Sunrise Mall  and charged with Petit Larceny.

On  Marrch 13, a Woodhaven woman  was arrested at JC Penny at the Sunrise Mall and charged with Petit Larceny.
