Police Blotter: Man Found Dead in Swimming Pool

July 19 to July 26.

The following information is taken directly from the Nassau County Police Deparment's Seventh and Eighth Precinct  incident reports. None of the defendants have been convicted of a crime.

On July 21,  A woman found her husband dead in the couple's backyard swimming pool on Roosevelt Place, police said. When the woman woke up at about 6:35 a.m. and couldn't find him, she went out to the yard and spotted found him floating in the pool. She called 911 and he was pronounced dead at the scene.  There was no sign of trauma or injury, and the wife told authorities that her husband often had trouble sleeping and would go swimming in the pool at night when this happened. The medical examiner will determine the cause of death.

On July 21, a worker at the Sunrise Mall Starbucks told cops she was robbed by a man whose partner in crime distracted her. The men approached the counter and asked her several questions about drinks. As one of the suspects continued to ask questions, the other went around the side of the kiosk and stuck his arm into the cabinet and removed the victim's purse, police said.When another employee confronted him, he stated he didn't take anything and fled on foot towards the main entrance.

On July 20, Khaled Manzoor, 31, of Babylon was arrested on Sunrise Highway, Massapequa and charged with Driving While Intoxicated, Aggravated Unlicensed Operation and Three Violations of the Vehicle and Traffic Law.

On July 20,  a Copiague man was arrested at Macy's, at the Sunrise Mall and charged with Petit Larceny.

On  July 20, Mohannad Manzoor, 35, of Babylon was arrested on Sunrise Highway, Massapequa and charged with Unlawful Possession of Marijuana.

On July 21, a Wyandanch woman was arrested at Macy's, at the Sunrise Mall  and charged with Petit Larceny.

On  July 21, a Ronkonkoma teen was arrested at Mandees at the Sunrise Mall, Massapequa and charged with Petit Larceny.

On July 23, Thomas Gallagher, 46, of Seaford was arrested at the Massapequa Railroad Station and charged with Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated and Driving While Intoxicated.

On July 25, John K. Bier, 47, of Syosset was arrested on Sunrise Highway, Massapequa and charged with Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated, Driving While Intoxicated and Three Violations of the Vehicle and Traffic Law.

On July 24, a Southhampton woman was arrested at TJ Maxx, 5500 Sunrise Highway, Massapequa and charged with Petit Larceny.

On July 25, Thomas M. Derosa, 41, of Sayville was arrested on Old Sunrise Highway, Massapequa and charged with Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a Vehicle and Six Violations of the Vehicle and Traffic Law.

On July 25, Gilbert A. Lee, 25, of Jamaica, Queens was arrested on Merrick Road, Massapequa Park and charged with Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle and Three Violations of the Vehicle and Traffic Law.
