Police Blotter: Pumpkins, Paintball and Other Mischief

October 26 to November 1

The following information is taken directly from the Nassau County Police Department's Seventh and Eighth Precinct incident reports. None of the defendants have been convicted of a crime.

These were some "Not so Great Pumpkins." There  were two reports of pumpkins  being hurled at cars on Algonquin Avenue this week, police said. One smashed the windshield of a 2002 Pontiac, while the other struck the trunk of a 2004 Mitsubishi. Both incidents happened during the overnight hours between October 29 and 30, police said.

On October 31, someone who was watching a surveillance video at a building on Lake Shore Drive saw somebody shoot and disable a camera there at about 6:45 p.m., police said. When cops arrived, it was discovered that the camera was taken out by a paintball. Another car was smashed by a rock on Walnut Street on October 30. The rear window of the 1995 Acura was smashed.

On October 28, a car parked in a driveway on North Wyoming Avenue was ransacked, police said.

On October 25, an American Express gold card and about $110 was taken from a car on Carmen Street.

On October 27, Joseph Parks, 30, of Hempstead, was arrested on Hickory Street and N. Central Avenue, Massapequa and was charged with 12 counts of Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a Vehicle and 5 Violations of the Vehicle and Traffic Law.

On October 27, a Massapequa teen was arrested at the Seventh Precinct Station House and charged with Petit Larceny. 

On  October 28, two Massapequa teens were arrested at Kohl's, 5300 Sunrise Highway, Massapequa and charged with Petit Larceny.

On October 29,  an Amityville  woman was arrested at Macy's at the Sunrise Mall and charged with Petit Larceny.

On October 31, a  Freeport woman  was arrested at 600 Sunrise Highway, Massapequa and charged with Petit Larceny.

On October 31, Michele Cipollone, 49, of Massapequa was arrested at Park Blvd and Taylor Street, Massapequa Park and charged with Obstructing Governmental Property and Disorderly Conduct.

On November 1, an Islip woman was arrested at Wal-Mart at the Sunrise Mall and charged with Petit Larceny.
