Police Blotter: Several Area DWI Arrests

Sept. 30 -Oct. 4.

The following information was supplied by the Nassau County Police Department. A criminal charge is only an accusation, and does not indicate convictions.

DWI/DWAI

On Sept.30, John Buckley, 50, of  West Islip was arrested on Front Street near Philadelphia Avenue, Massapequa Park and charged with driving while intoxicated, refusal to take a breath test and two violations of the Vehicle and Traffic Law.

On Sept. 30, Thomas J Ratti, 26 of Massapequa, was arrested on Sunrise Highway, Massapequa and charged with driving while intoxicated and one violation of the Vehicle and Traffic Law.

On Oct. 3, Matthew J Robinson, 37 of Amityville, was arrested on Sunrise Highway near Louden Avenue, Massapequa and charged with driving while ability impaired, two counts of aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle 1st, two counts of aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle 3rd and unlicensed operator.

Traffic Arrests

On Sept. 29, Wilfredo Torres, 30 ,of Massapequa was arrested on Clocks Boulevard near East Cedar Street, Massapequa and charged with aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle 3rd and 2 violations of the vehicle and traffic law.

Burglary:

On Sept. 30, a home on Ann Rose Street in Massapequa was broken into, police said. The burglar entered through a rear door sometime between 5:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. and took jewelry.

Auto Theft

On Oct. a minivan parked on Old Sunrise Highway in Massapequa was stolen between 12:50 p.m. and 4:15 p.m., cops said.

Petty Larceny

On Oct.1, a Jamaica man was arrested at Wal-Mart at the Sunrise Mall  and charged with two counts of petty larceny.

On Oct. 1, a Far Rockaway woman was arrested at Wal-Mart  and charged with petty larceny.

On Oct. 2, a South Farmingdale woman was arrested at Wal-Mart, 200 Sunrise Mall, Massapequa and charged with petty larceny.

On Oct. 3, an Amityville woman was arrested at Wal-Mart, at the Sunrise Mall  and charged with petty larceny.

On Sept. 28, a man heard a noise outside his home on Violet Street in Massapequa Park at about 1:15 a.m. When he looked outside he saw a man running from his car, police said. He later discovered the front passenger window was broken and his iPod was stolen.
