Police Blotter: Walmart Diaper Bag Robbery

Dec. 14 to Dec. 20

The following information is taken directly from the Nassau County Police Department's Seventh and Eighth Precinct incident reports. None of the defendants have been convicted of a crime.

On December 14, a pair of robbers stuffed several DVDs into a diaper bag at Walmart at the Sunrise Mall  at 7:30 p.m., police said.  A male robber and his female companion were pushing the bag in a stroller and walked out of the store without paying, according to cops. When Security at the store followed him, he allegedly produced what appeared to be a small knife or a razor blade and swung it at a guard. Security was able to knock the man over, but the companion picked up the blade and told the guard, "I'll cut you," police said. She took the diaper bag and fled, according to police, who said the DVDs were worth, $300. The man was charged with robbery.

On the evening of December 18, vandals struck at a home on Pitsburg Avenue in East Massapequa, damaging the home's front glass door, a snowman decoration and a Japanese Maple Tree, police said.

On December 19, A woman discovered her car window was broken at the Massapequa LIRR Station, police said.

On December 14, a Roosevelt man was arrested at Wal-Mart at the Sunrise Mall and charged with Petit Larceny.

On December 15, a West Babylon  man was arrested on Block Boulevard, Massapequa Park and charged with two counts of Criminal Trespassing 2nd and Resisting Arrest

On December 17,  a Massapequa Park woman was arrested on Lourae Drive and Carmans Road in Massapequa and charged with Driving While Intoxicated.

On December 17, a Lindenhurst woman was arrested at Wal-Mart at the Sunrise Mall and charged with Petit Larceny.

On  December 17, a Bridgewood  woman was arrested at Wal-Mart at the Sunrise Mall and charged with Petit Larceny.

On December 17,  a Farmingdale woman was arrested at Sears at the Sunrise Mall and charged with Petit Larceny.

On December 18, an Amityville woman was arrested at Wal-Mart at the  Sunrise Mall and charged with Petit Larceny.

On December 19, a West Babylon man was arrested at JC Penny at Sunrise Mall and charged with Petit Larceny.

On December 20, a Massapequa  woman was arrested at Wal-Mart at the Sunrise Mall and charged with Petit Larceny.

On December 20, a Copiague woman was arrested at JC Penny at the Sunrise Mall and charged with Petit Larceny.
