Police: Gunpoint Robbery at Walmart

Store manager forced to open safe.

A Walmart store manager was robbed at gunpoint early Saturday, by a man he thought was a store employee, police said.

The robber went to the Sunrise Mall store at 1:25 a.m. long after the retail franchise was closed. The manager assumed he was an employee and let him in.

Instead, the robber pulled the gun and forced the manager to go into the money room. Hew was then ordered to open the safe and fill a black duffle bag with money.

The robber then ran out of the store in an unknown direction. He is described as a black male about 5-feet 8-inches tall and a medium build. He was wearing eyeglasses, a Yankees cap, orange and white gloves, a blue shirt and khaki pants.
