A Massapequa man was arrested Sunday morning for driving while intoxicated with his teenage son in his vehicle in Amityville, Suffolk police said.

Driscoll pulled over the vehicle and determined the driver, Jairo Penate-Cruz, was intoxicated, police said.

Penate-Cruz’s 15-year-old son was also in the car, police said.

Penate-Cruz, 34, was arrested and charged with aggravated DWI with a child passenger 15 years old or younger, a felony under Leandra's Law, DWI and endangering the welfare of a child.

Penate-Cruz was held in police custody overnight and is scheduled to be arraigned Sunday in First District Court in Central Islip.

Not the sharpest tool in the shed. This guy could have killed them both. Great parenting.

What was this parent thinking? It is bad enough that teenagers do this but a grown adult putting kids at danger.I say take away his license and send him to parenting 101.There are two other parents that also drove drunk with kids in the car send them to parenting 101 as well.Lucky no one was hurt .

Parenting?? Do you see the ages of him and his son, he's no parent. He was 19 when he had this kid. I bet there hasn't been a day of parenting in that 15yr olds life.
