Police: Narcan Used to Revive Woman in Massapequa Park

Woman lost consciousness while enroute to the hospital, police say.

A woman who lost consciousness in an ambulance was revived with Narcan Saturday afternoon, police said.

The 48-year-old woman was "incoherent and had difficulty standing and walking" when police and a Nassau County ambulance medical technician arrived at a restaurant on Sunrise Highway in Massapequa Park.

The woman, who is part of a methadone program, was being transported to a local hospital when she stopped breathing, police said. The AMT administered Narcan to the woman, who then became conscious and alert upon arrival at the hospital.
