A Massapequa man was arrested and charged with DWI Friday night after striking a Nassau County Police patrol car.
According to the Seventh Precinct, Thomas Tighe, 48, driving a 2012 Lincoln MKT, struck the patrol car from behind at the intersection of Hicksville and Merrick roads at approximately 7:55 p.m.
A female police officer, stopped at the traffic light, suffered neck and back pain. She was treated and released at an area hospital, police said.
Assisting officers determined Tighe was intoxicated and made the arrest. He will be arraigned Saturday in First District Court in Hempstead.
