Police Report: 15 Teenagers Caught with Fireworks

In addition to illegal fireworks, Whitefish Bay police also received a report of a stolen American flag after the Fourth of July.

Despite warnings about the , 15 teenagers were cited for illegally using fireworks on the Fourth of July.

Three 14-year-old boys from Whitefish Bay and a 15-year-old Shorewood boy were caught setting off fireworks by at 5 p.m. on July 4. Police called the boys' parents and warned that any other firework incidents would result in citations. Two of the Whitefish Bay boys were cited for possessing or using fireworks.

About three hours later, at 8 p.m., police cited another 13 kids ages 14 through 16 for igniting illegal fireworks behind Richards School.

In other Whitefish Bay police news:

  • An American flag was stolen from a porch in the 1500 block of Cumberland Boulevard sometime between 11 p.m. Wednesday and 10:30 p.m. Thursday.

  • Two blue ceramic planters were taken from the entrance of a building in the 5100 block of North Santa Monica Boulevard between 11:45 p.m. Tuesday and 11 a.m. Wednesday. The planters are valued at $60.
  • A 19-year-old Whitefish Bay woman was cited for underage drinking after an officer saw her running from a yard in the 5800 block of Lake Drive at 1 a.m. Saturday. Her blood alcohol content registered 0.11.
  • A 23-year-old Minnesota man and two Milwaukee women, ages 24 and 22, were cited for trespassing, violation of park closing hours and open burning after holding an illegal bonfire on a beach in the 4900 block of Lake Drive at 2 a.m. Saturday.
