Police Seek Robber Who Persistently Harassed His Victim

Local authorities are seeking the public’s help with identifying and locating a man who robbed and stabbed at a man in North Amityville in early June.

Suffolk County Crime Stoppers and First Squad detectives are looking for a suspect who tried to coerce a victim into buying drugs, stole his phone and stabbed at him with a knife.

On June 10 at approximately 3 a.m., a man was walking on Route 110 when he was approached by the suspect, who asked him to buy drugs. He refused and walked away, but a short time later the suspect came out from a bush brandishing a gun and demanding cash. A nearby witness called out and the suspect fled with the victim’s phone, but later jumped from a tree and stuck the victim with a knife.
