Police: Woodmere Man Stalked Teens, Exposed Himself

Man arrested for multiple incidents in the Bellmore area.

A Woodmere man was arrested Wednesday after allegedly stalking and attempting to lure teens into his car on multiple occasions in the Bellmore area.

According to Nassau County detectives, around 2:40 p.m. on Sept. 26, Michael Chemick, 23, while driving a blue 2010 Honda Accord, approached a 14-year-old female victim who was walking on Fish Avenue near Newbridge Road in North Bellmore.

Chemick rolled down his window and asked the victim to come over to the vehicle, police said. He began asking her questions, then yelled obscenities and exposed himself to her. The victim backed away from the vehicle and fled the scene on foot.

Around 3 p.m. on Oct. 15, Chemick, while driving the same vehicle, attempted to stop a 15-year-old female victim who was walking on Beltagh Avenue near Jefferson Avenue in Bellmore, police said. He kept asking to talk to her.

The victim told police that this was the third time in two weeks that Chemick attempted to talk to her or just followed her around in his car.

No injuries were reported.

First Squad detectives arrested Chemick while outside of his residence Wednesday morning at 11:40 a.m.

Chemick is being charged with attempted luring of a child, two counts of endangering the welfare of a child and stalking in the third degree. He will be arraigned on Thursday at First District Court in Hempstead.

Detectives ask anyone who may have been victimized by Chemick to contact the First Squad at 516-573-6153.

How does one drive in a car alone and just prey on little 14 year old girls, unbelievable, there must be more girls out there in the five towns area that experienced something similar to this whether it be via Facebook or via him driving around in his car stalking them. Sick.

While I'm not defending him, I think his family should be left out of this. I'm sure they did not intend to raise a flasher/pedophile.
