Report: Possible Serial Killer Victim Used Phone in Massapequa

Associated Press says Melissa Barthelemy called sister.

A woman authorities believe died at the hands of a serial killer made a phone call from Massapequa before she was killed it was reported Tuesday.

Melissa Barthelemy, 23, used her cell phone to call her sister from Massapequa, according to the Associated Press.

Barthelemy was one of four women whose bodies were found on Gilgo Beach last month.

All four were prostitutes  who used online services, such as Craiglist, for business, Suffolk County District Attorney Thomas Spota said at a Tuesday.

Spota also said he believe that the killings are "the work of a serial killer."

The body of Barthelemy, who lives in Erie in Western New York and went missing in 2009,  was identified on Tuesday. 

Two other victims, Amber Lynn Costello, a 27-year-old North Babylon woman last seen in early September,  and Maureen Brainard-Barnes, 25, of Norwich, Connecticut  were also identified Tuesday.

Last week, the body of Megan Waterman, a missing 24-year-old Maine woman who was last seen in Hauppauge, was also ID'd .
