State Police: Drunk Driver on Southern State Had Brass Knuckles in Jeep

North Bellmore man arrested in North Massapequa.

A North Bellmore man was driving drunk with a flat tire on the Southern State Parkway, state police said Monday.

Joseph Munsch, 22, also had brass knuckles in the car, according to troopers.

Munsch was spotted driving on the right shoulder east of the Bethpage Parkway exit in North Massapequa at 3:10 a.m. Saturday. In addition to the flat tire on the rear of the Jeep, he was also driving with a rim on the front driver's side of the vehicle.

A trooper who interviewed  Munsch said he detected the smell of alcohol. The driver produced a breath sample of .16 percent blood alcohol content, about twice the legal limit of .08 percent.

Munsch was charged with felony DWI, weapons possession and traffic violations.
