This is a real low life. East Massapequa has been that way for years. It is sad because some areas of east Massapequa have nice homes and nice hard working people.Rosaries comment about the ship sailing is sad, because some people are feed up which I can understand, but things can be done about it.... The right people have to step up and do the right thing, like the politicians and the police dept.Look at areas of Brooklyn that were bad, now they were taken back and are beautiful. We need to weed out the bad that shouldn't be here in the first place. No more homes with 5 family's living in them.Things can change because people care, and things can be done.

Blame TOB Code Enforcement which does nothing to go after infractions east of Carmans Road.
Massa November 25, 2012 at 05:48 pm
I agree Ed, they need to enforce these matters. This is the suburbs, NOT the city.
LAKETAJO November 26, 2012 at 02:46 am
Total ignorance!!! "that side" "sailed ship" "low lives" "not the city"??? R u kidding? do u really think it's just THAT side of town? It's all over the place...disrespect!!
Massa November 26, 2012 at 05:50 am
It's the crap that is moving in Laketajo....What do you suggest? I want to hear your answer to the problems.
LAKETAJO November 26, 2012 at 12:21 pm
Massa...there's been a prob with graffitti for the yrs that I've lived here. Obviously the police need to patrol & put more effort in making arrests as they do in Queens...u know THAT side of town. Ignorance is when u think the kids in ur own neighbirhood r innocent of this.
Educated Black Man November 26, 2012 at 05:05 pm
I can't believe what I am reading!!! Stay on your own side you really sound ignorant. I see that in this day and age a person like you hasn't evolved. The Grand Wizard of the KKK wouldn't even speak like that. You need prayer in your life. Find a church and repent on your ignorance!!!
LAKETAJO November 27, 2012 at 02:48 am
Graffiti has been prob for the many yrs I've lived her. Yes the police should patrol more & make arrests as they do in Queens Ignorance is thinking that the kids in our towm r innocent of this behavior. Unfortunately Mass. is blind to alot.

BTW - Eastwood Drive and Cedar Place are on the 'good' side of Carman Road...

when you say elite do you mean the hard working people who have money? it's a matter of labels. youRead More call them elite..they call themselves hard workers. yes, some inherit money. but most of us work for it.
Michael Taustine June 16, 2013 at 09:01 pm
No, it has nothing to do with how hard you work. It's just that the elite one percenters are treatedRead More differently when they run afoul of the laws in this country. No one has been jailed for the corporate malfeasance that resulted in the financial crash of '08, in spite of the rules that were ignored or broken. Too big to fail is the order of the day. Meanwhile, petty frauds committed by poor and middle class are prosecuted to the full extent of the law. Two Americas. The rule of law, unevenly applied, whether by race, or class, or economic station will result in the unraveling of society. We may well be seeing the beginnings of that now, as we've entered a new gilded age, where new robber barons are allowed to run roughshod over the lower classes. The very ideals of America are at stake, and we are letting them slide away.

Will the new Massapequa station platform be covered end-to-end as it is now? If it will only beRead More partially covered, like Seaford station, there are going to be a lot of cold, wet, unhappy commuters.
Patrick O'Hara June 12, 2013 at 04:14 pm
Mr. Coyote, The design plans only call for a canopy over certain parts of the station platform, likeRead More almost all of the other stations along the branch. The canopies will be primarily over the staircases, elevator, waiting room, and one other small section on the middle section of the platform between the elevator and east escalator.
