A minivan traveling south on Hicksville Road burst into flames near a gas station Tuesday morning, authorities said.
The fire broke out near the Mobil station at the intersection of Hicksville and Merrick Road shortly before 10 a.m., police said.
A woman driving alone in the vehicle was able to escape and was not hurt.
The blaze was put out in less than an hour and did not spread to the gas station.
