Weigh in on Tedesco Investigation

If the allegations against the officer are true, how should he be punished?

The woman who is accusing a Nassau County police officer of having an affair with her, while he should have been on duty, against Officer Michael Tedesco.

It's the latest twist in the case of the 7th Precinct cop, who allegedly spent time at the home of his girlfriend Tara Obenauer when he should have been patrolling.

The accusations are serious, and we want to know what what should happen if they prove to be true.

He should be disciplined by his department as they deem appropriate. He should not be tried in the news.

The nassau county taxpayers are intitled to the outcome of the disciplinary action taken, as this has unfortunately not been a PRIVATE AFFAIR.................

His pension and benefits should be revoked. He did not have respect for his job and lots of other things including his family. He should be shown the same respect, afterall we the people do employ him.

He should be fired and all the officers and Supervisors who played a hand in this fiasco should be transferred out of the 7th precient and sent to high crime precients. There is no way that this should have gone on for as long as it did. This was a theft from the citizens of Nassau County and should be treated as such. The citizens deserve to be notified of the outcome of this case.

I agree, Ed. While he was "resting" on the job, I was paying his salary. I'm looking for a rebate on my taxes. Also, Ed, keep that dictionary close to you at all times, precients is spelled precincts. No big of a deal, just constructive info.

My dad is an attorney in NY. He sues the Nassau County Police Department more than his fair share but in this case he is of the opinion that this is a law suit without merit. http://bit.ly/POWJ2X

jenn, I get the impression that Tedesco had lots of "girl friends" on the side. Tell your friend to get tested for STDs.

there are other cops in the 7th that are still doing the same thing to this day. And I know of one.

Bottom line is that the D.A. should investigate the Whole 7th and see what their doing there.

Hopefully they'll convict him if he goes to trial, just like the three corrupt chiefs that did there friend a favor by not arresting his son. They are just common criminals with a badge, the deserve jail time.
