Women Charged with Assaulting Cops at Carmans Road Pathmark

Arrests come after alleged shoplifting incident involving children.

Two Amityville women assaulted a pair of cops Saturday after one of them was placed under arrest for using children in a shoplifting scheme, police said.

Clara Young, 23, was spotted by security at the Pathmark on Carmans Road in Massapequa filling a shopping cart along with with two kids, aged 9 and  10 at about 4:40 p.m.

Young exited the store with the 10-year-old, and got into a car parked outside, while the 9-year-old tried to push the cart out of the store wthout paying, cops said.

All three were stopped by store security, who called police and Young's friend Shakeeta Legette, 29, the mother of the two boys.

When cops tried to arrest Young, she allegedly began to hit them.  Legette then joined in and also assaulted the officers, cops said.

One officer sustained a shoulder injury while the other officer hurt his elbow. They were treated at a local hospital, police said.

Young was charged with petty larceny, assault 2nd and resisting arrest, while Legette was charged with assault 2nd, endangering the welfare of a child and obstruction of governmental administration.

Nice girls. They should have those children taken from them and put in a good home. They use their children to commit a crime and then when they get caught they assault police officers in front of their children, this is sickening. Great moms.

Ciara Young was accused by a foster child in her home for hitting him and screaming at him. The foster agency 85 willis ave defended her against the little boys accusations saying she was cleared by them as a trusting good person to watch him while her mother was out. He would cry and say that Ciara was hitting him on his back. He also said she was hitting her 2 small children that lived with her and her mom.. They said he was lying and just trying to get attention. He was moved and is now in a good home with nice caring people.

I first heard of this woman, Ciara Young, when a little boy I know was placed in her mother's care (foster) where Young lives. The little boy would show deep disturbing fear whenever he knew he was going to be left alone with her. He would beg for someone else to be around plus stated that she would hit him and threaten him. When brought to the attention to the Foster agency the case workers would say that the little boy was lying, that Ciara Young is a "nice girl who would never do such a thing, nor ever harm any children.", and was cleared by them nonetheless! There you have it! Young is acted like an animal in this situation, and as a bully in the situation to the boy. God only knows what else he has suffered in her care while his cries were ignored. I hope this situation opens the eyes not only to this agency on the type of people they are clearing for foster care but also to the public on how animals like this get by while the cries of a scared child obviously in danger go ignored.

These "women" are ANIMALS. They deserve Rikers and SEVERE, PERMANENT charges of CHILD ABUSE. Their Children should be taken away and NEVER GIVEN BACK as they are PERMANENTLY, SEVERELY DAMAGED!!!! Ciara beat my godson and the Agency said HE was lying?!?! I knew it was true cause he doesnt lie EVER ABOUT ABUSE. EVER.
