Biltmore Beach Club and Philip Healy Beach Closed by County

Nassau closes five beaches including two in Massapequa after heavy rains.

Five Nassau County beaches, including the and Phillip Healy Beach in Massapequa, have been closed Monday by county health officials after heavy rains passed through the area.

The beaches were closed as a precaution according to a release by the Nassau County Health Department.

Storm water runoff can elevate bacteria l levels and negatively impact bathing water quality.

The health Department also closed Hewlett Point Beach, Island Park Beach and the Merrick Estates Civic Association Beach.
