Committee Creates Agreement to Protect Bay, Harbor

Committee coordinates 14 municipalities for environmental initiative.

The Oyster Bay Cold Spring Harbor Protection Committee held a press conference recently at Theodore Roosevelt Park concerning the importance of protecting the bodies of water and their tributaries, according to a town press release.

Coordinator Rob Crafa and committee chair Eric Swenson managed to secure the cooperation of 14 municipalities within the watershed. The committee's Inter-Municipal Agreement is the "most cost-efficient and effective manner as possible to help protect and enhance the water quality" of the bay and harbor, the release stated.

Officials present at the press conference officially signed the agreement there.
