Fiscal Sanity in the Town of Oyster Bay

Oyster Bay Democrats have criticized the town's fiscal policy. Is it a winning issue for them?

Oyster Bay Democrats have put together a slate of candidates for the fall elections and seem to have come up with a campaign issue as well.

The Dems held a press conference Friday to introduce their candidates led by  John Capobianco, who will once again run for town Supervisor.

Capobianco, a Farmingdale school board member had some tough talk directed at incumbent supervisor John Venditto's stewardship of Town fiinances.

"The Town of Oyster Bay has run itself into the ground," he said.  When we're in office, things will change. We'll bring fiscal sanity back to the town. We'll reduce the debt. We'll change the climate for economic growth and development, and you will see the Town of Oyster Bay blossom into the 21st century."

Venditto has maintained the town will pay down its debt and is on a sound fiscal footing.

We want to know how you feel about this issue. Has the current Town government mismanaged their finances?  Or have they maintained the right course?
