The Massapequa woman who has officer of having trysts with her when he was supposed to be on duty is reportedly planning to sue Nassau County.
Tara Obenauer, has filed a notice of claim against the county, the first step in an expected $10 million lawsuit, according to Newsday (paid site). Obenauer has claimed that police officer Michael Tedesco, a married officer, regularly visited her home during his shifts. A neighbor reported Tedesco to authorities after seeing his patrol car parked outside Obenauer's home numerous times, according to reports.
In court papers, Obenauer claims she's "suffered severe . . . emotional and psychological damages" and is "too scared to leave her house fearing that Tedesco or other officers may retaliate against her," according to the paper.
Tedesco was also named on the claim, which accuses other officers of covering for Tedesco.
Nassau County Police Benevolent Association president Jim Carver told the paper "It appears to be a frivolous lawsuit." while County attorney John Ciamploi also described the claim as meritless.
