Grab your shades and drink extra water this weekend because Massapequa is due for another round of dangerously high temperatures, according to the National Weather Service. The neighborhood will hit a high of 94 degrees Friday, so the Town of Oyster Bay is opening a cooling center at the William P. Bennett Hicksville Community Center from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
In addition to the high temperatures, NWS has also put out an air quality alert for Massapequa. Pollution levels will be aggravated and those with respiratory problems, heart issues, and the young and elderly, so NWS is urging those people to stay indoors.
